you no likey the gravel???? whats wrong with it?

I bought a 500 dollar universal remote made by monster(look it up futureshop.ca) that did light dimming and everything and it got stolen from me i'll get it again hopefully for xmas and it will control tank lighting when I do get it

anyways todays the day expect some updated pics on here tonight in 2 hours im going shoppin

I'd say you could may a small sump to sit beside it, but you might have to modify the cabinet beside it to fit it. Wouldn't be too hard, and wouldn't have to be too big for that size tank. There are tons of threads on doing a sump filter. That would work for sure, but the mechanics would be a little strange with the tank on the floor. I'm sure someone on here would help you figure out how to run the plumbing for something like that.

wow, i'd love a remote like that! to bad its $500......cool idea for a coffie table, just hope that no one stumbles into it!

if anyone stumbles into it they going to severely hurt themselves on my 1000 pound fish tank haha

169 CDN for the tank
179 CDN for the fluval 305
about 35 CDN on about 55 pounds of gravel
rocks were found by myself
stand was custom built by me and my buddy I built the pic I'm about to post for about 50 dollars worth of wood
20 bucks on paint
so what you are looking at in this pic was 450 ish before the lighting hood which will be up in the am which puts me too 520ish
i spent another 65 or so tonight to build the lighting system ill have pic up tomorrow but its all black now and everything is running
the lighting system has 4 light sockets all independently controlled from they're own switch ill be running 4 bright white compact florescent and will soon be running a moonlighting setup

I would go with submersible LED light wands. You could get both white & blue for day & night. Put them right under the rim of the tank. I would get 48" white ones & put them in the front & back. Put the shorter blue ones on the sides. Would look much better than the light strips. (check e-bay). I don't know how the live plants would fair but there are some very real looking fake ones now days.

I would get something to shim up the lid about a 1/2 or so. That will help with the condensation. You could also sneak the food in without having to move that monster lid. :headbang2

Looking at it,,, I would put some kind of 2x4 molding around the bottom. That left side is completely exposed with no bumper!
Good Luck.

OH,, Universal remote. Omega MX-650 Rocks!!!! Costs around $130 & worth every penny. LCD display & long battery life. RF & IR HUGE code list & learning, etc. Check it out.

One more way to help the condensation. Ditch the air stones and replace them with a power head. I know it will be tuff to hide but you can figure it out. With the air stone, when the bubbles get to the top they pop, releasing a lot of water into the air.

So, a power head along with the lid spaced, you should be good to go.
