the shovel nose is gunna get big... maybe even too big for that tank... and plecos make a bigger mess then they clean... ur best bet is going with cory cats and some more top/mid water fish

I know he will I want to run just a few pretty big fish then feeder fish I got a bunch of friends with tanks so worst case scenario I trade the pleco or move him to the tank with my convicts I dont think they would try to attack it.... I want 1 more top or mid water killer i'm considering a small arowana or maybe a knife fish or FW barracuda anything come to mind that would go well with this mix??

I have a FW barracuda(hujeta) and I love him. He doesn't mess w/ any of my other fish, but he loves some feeders...

The lima shovelnose is very flighty species and a poor choice for this type of tank IMO. They have a fairly delicate shovelnose and you will end up with a smashed or upturned nose unless they work out where the ends of the tank are. I nomally cover tank ends up for a first few weeks to help them. I would have settled for a simple internal power filter and kept some low maintanence small fish. Or perhaps an internal side drop filter.

Here is a link to some coffee table tanks which are popular in Asia atm

Mine has never tried to attack me, but he will eat a lot of feeders. He'll eat about 10 roseys a day and he's only 5-6"... I really like mine though, :headbang2

Hes a pretty calm fish he just chills in the plants on the far end that has the black box against the glass too with the pleco he's only about 5 inches right now he cost 8 bucks but he'll take a while to get big by then I may have a bigger tank anyways he seems to be adapting well to the new tank tho like he seems happy

how do you gravel vac something that's on the floor?

Sand is the best substrate for floor tanks. You can skim the surface every once in a while and do water changes. That's how I keep my Sea Mist.
