You say you want a Fluval 305 where I come from? Better bring your wallet, you'll be forking over 200+ for that little piece of filtering wonder.

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Prices aren't rediculous down here in Florida, it's the people.

I got my latest 55 gallon with stand and fluval 305 filter for $75. If you ask me, that's a steal.

I had someone ready to sell me a 100 gallon with filter and stand for $100, but they left it outside in the sun for a week and everything warped. Smart people huh?

Then you look on craigslist and see all the people that want $150 for a 29 gallon with stand and filter and are like "I put well over $400 into this..." blah blah blah and don't realize that you can go to Petsmart and buy a 29 with stand for about $200 or less.

What I really hate are the people that think just because they want to sell an aquarium with a reef in it, that their tank is worth well over $1000 or $2000, some people even $3000 depending on the size of the tank. It drives me nuts. I found a 125 with stand/lights for $150 that I was so close to biting on, but decided on the 55 since it had everything with it for a much cheaper price in the long run. I'll get the bigger tanks when I get a place of my own some day.

I just think this is crazy. Guy's like "I paid over $12,000 for all of this". Yeah, great deal, but how many people out there would really do this? http://orlando.craigslist.org/for/1966923107.html

My friend, I am in a place much worse than you in terms of value for the dollar.

I'm in a place where one adds big, big money to any ticketed price, just so that the government can spend it remarkably foolishly.

The prices I pay for things would scare the whiskers off a catfish.

Drive to NH. Not sure where you are so not sure how long the drive. I got most of my fish there or in Vermont. Paid maybe a quarter of what it is here. Also get your equipment online or used one of my Pro 3 I got here. It was harsh for me till only a few years ago. Before that I lived on Ramen. Hang in there. Life gets much easier when the kids head off to college. That's what my parents keep telling me. Once we left the house they started buy all sorts of neat stuff and going on LAVISH (without me:cry:) vacations.

I'm 14 and I have a tank twice the size of your largest tank... hehe...

I have a nice car (should have that vette before you turn 20), house, no curfew, a tank you could swim in, toys most of your friends have dreams about and I don't have to ask mother may I ever.

Yes I know I'm flaming:FIREdevil but this time it's warranted.

Tell me about it.

I wouldn't trade my kids for the world. And that's why I can justify 1000 for a Largemouth bass set up, when I have to pay for my sons karate and my daughters dance and swimming!

Get Sum! should be flamed at the cyclic rate.

Redear ; Where the heck are you located? Sounds like a icy version of hell. Could it possibly be worse than the peoples republic of Kalifornia?

Way worse. People are nice though.

Here in HK we have a different problem, prices of tanks are pretty cheap, but the space a lot of these tanks sit on cost an arm and a leg... and when you consider how much property here is worth that equates to a lot of money (if you have the space for it)...

For example my 200G is sitting on a piece of real-estate worth about USD $25,130 or 14 Square Feet...
