I live in the netherlands, didn't win any lottery, and live in a small rental home. just took my hammer en started demolishing/building.
you should take a look in the site www.showjeaquarium.nl go to the "doe het zelf" section (diy section) look for DNovaNL username and it wil show you my tank. and the build of it.

I already did that when i bought my flat, demolished as many walls as possible and turned a basically 3 Bedroom flat into a 1 bedroom with large living room just for my 200G...

Unfortunately still living in apartments in HK means a lot of the times a lot of the walls are load bearing walls and can't be removed... not to mention the layouts of a lot of the newer flats are pretty narrow meaning putting in a tank 2Foot wide X 4foot for the most part is already extremely difficult...

Either way though, i can't really complain since i got it better than a good majority of other people in this town as far as fish keeping goes... especially when you consider that 25G tanks are already considered humongous due to space restrictions...

Two 75 gallons, one 30 gallon, one 5 gallon, 32 years old - Im feeling your pain. I NEED a bigger tank.

I can sympathize with you man, CT charges so much for everything... My little 38gal cost more than $200, with the stand, but thats still ridiculous.

It's not a 400g but here's nothing my cousin is selling a 125g with everything for 1500$ it's filled with african mixed cichlids some are breeding & stand, canopy, sump pump, food, chemical, what he has is going with the tank,so here's nothing!!!Hope it helped a bit!!!By the way i also dream of owning a bigger tank!!

I think you all are looking in the wrong places. True, large steups aren't as plentiful here as in socal, but they are around. How bad do you want the bass? A 300 rubbermaid is $300 in most pond shops. It's true that the craigslisters think their tanks are gold plated around here, but deals do pop up. They aren't going to fall into your lap, You need to look for them. Also, like someone else said, you might need to be willing to drive a little to get it. I have made plenty a day trip for fish or supplies.

I think the "fish suit' you proposed in another thread is the solution!
