<<<<<<owner of the drabest feestae's ever , lol i hope when mine acclimate my brighten up a bit,
you guys put my latest to shame

@greenterra, super nice fish , he's a beaut.

I think location of collection makes a huge difference in colour, i used to have a "black" percula clownfish and i ordered a fefw extras to find a mate but they came from a different supplier due to cost , and my original was slightly different and the others never looked as nice

I have both species, Peru and Ecuadorian, the ones I currently have are F1+?, hoping to pick up 4 WC Ecuadorian some time this week. I will grow them out and see for myself how they turn out. Personally I like the Ecuadorians, but I have heard the Female Peru is much prettier when wearing the red dress! non the less, this is a good topic, and I am still lear ning about Festaes.

I hate to say it bud, but if you were to do some research you would find that there is a ban on exporting any wildlife out of ecuador, including festae. I have seen these festae that are being claimed f0 and have emailed the sources I found to discuss the situation. All I got back was that they were true festae and they could not prove that they were wild, they completely gave me the run around. Besides, if they were truly wild, why would they be sold for dirt cheap? Think about it. But I cant stop you from buying and I can't prove that they arnt Ecuador decendants so I hope they turm out nicely for you.

Either way...the topic is differences between Peru & Equador and I'm sure over the last 20 years, both have arrived on our soil....so differences are?

I realize what the topic is. And the ban has only been for the last 2-3 years. So yeah of course there are Ecuador on our soil lol..

From my experience, the festae from ecuador yield color varieties from reds, yellows, and greens. The Peruvians I've seen yield greens. These are just what I've seen. But as far as tryin to distinguish the differences just by looking at them will be similar to tryin to distinguish the locations of dovii just by looking at them too.
