Looks great! Don't worry about CO2, I did a gravel to flourite/sand change a while back and the plants grew fine

And it ended like this before I upgraded to a 125 gallon. I didn't use any ferts either, the fish poop along with flourite works pretty good!

Co2 injection is more for heavily planted tanks that won't support discus or other larger fish - the aquascaping nuts who think it's acceptable to take a 120 gallon tank and put a few tetra in it. Freaks!

If you've never seen a large, high-tech, quality aquascaped tank with discus... you have yet to live.

A couple of suggestions. I've seen a lot of keepers stay with BB but, put the plants in pots. Or get driftwood and tie Anubis to it till it roots onto the wood. You still have the BB for cleanliness but can move stuff arround as needed. As far as their behavior, temps at or above 80 yes?

Huh? No offense but there is NOthing uglier than a Bare Bottom tank, in the Aquarium Hobby. No I take that back, that multicolor rainbow gravel medium pebbles is far worse.

Huh won't support Discus really, why? You would think all that Oxigen in the water from all those plants, and all those hiding spots that Discus would love it.

:OMG:
WOW you must one of those RARE individuals that disagree with the mass many on this great site that believe that a 125G should only be used to house no more than either 1 to possibably 2 Cichlids such as Oscars, it seems that most people on MFK think that a 120~125G should only be used for housing smaller fish such as Tetras and Barbs. And in this case why not, I used to have a client that has a 220G with plants, Bamboo Shrimp and a few others, and about 177 Neon Tetras or so he claimed. That was an outstanding tank too, outstanding!

Yep, I don't know jack, that's all there is to it. See that conclusion over there? Let's jump! Hooray!

Obviously misconstrewed my intentions with my original post, but I'm sick of explaining things to people, that's still no excuse to go off on some wild tangent trying to contradict somthing I never even said.

Check out Dan over at Gulf Coast Discus, his website shows some photos of his CO2 planted tank with discus, it's amazing. There's lot's of folks with discus in CO2 tanks, it's just added work in my opinion, but amazing results for sure

WOW, looking at those Discus on that site - god I miss them and there more and more stunning everytime I turn around. Almost makes me wanna kick out my RTGG, because a 55G just won't do for a Discus Show tank. If I could just sell my RTGG for a nice price I could buy say a dozen Discus and a few plants for my 180G to start. Anyone interested ?

Dude I meant NO offense, I was just trying to stir up the gravel, so to speak. And maybe poke a little fun at those that believe anything smaller than a 125G is just a large goldfish bowl or Betta bowl!:screwy:
