DIY 600 GALLON PLYWOOD BOTTOM AQUARIUM..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It just takes a while to gain bacteria and turn brown then it gets heavier and works better, I tried all at once and had hardly any boil, once I redid it and used half then added as it would stop floating I gained sucess

what air pump are you going with to move the K1? I have 4cu feet of K1 in a 55 gallon drum and its pretty tight, I would start with 2cu feet get it moving well then add small amounts until it just floats.

Yea I'm going to start with 2 cubic feet first. I'm going to use the pond master ap100 just for the barrel

good choice i went with the 60 thinking the 100 would be too much, it gets the job done but if I did it over id get the ap100

Yea man have to go with the biggest lol. Don't want to do anything over again. This tank will house 10 rays I have right now. So I need a great going system.

I will update soon. Haven't done much yet.

Looks good.. I'm glad I'm not the only one who is messy with primer and glue..lol
I see you have 3 stand pipes but 4 holes. 3 drains and 1 return? Just my thoughts,, you should have one stand pipe slightly taller than the other,it will cut down on the noise. Also is the 4th spot for the return? And I too think the stand pipes are low unless you do not plan on filling the tank all the way. Reason being with pipes that low if you happen to lose power all that extra water will backflow into your filter and cause them to over flow onto your floor.
