Well If you're going to use the 20 W I would use 2 of them. One for each half of the tank, and raise them up a bit so the light covers the whole width and length of the tank. If you want to have them right off the water like on a glass top I would use 4 10 W that way you can cover the whole tank with light.
As for using one driver it is possible. You would either have to wire multiple LEDs in parallel or in series. I have seen a few people wire them in parallel and have issues. But I think if you wired them in series you would have no problem. The driver for this could be hard to find and a bit pricy. There is a guy on here who makes drivers that you can connect to a controller to slowly turn on the lights in the morning like sunrise and slowly dim them at night like sunset but i don't remember his name. I'll try and find that out if that is something you're interested in.
Hey mate, I've got 3 of the 20w and 3 drivers. Just gotta find time to set it up and find a way to mount it all. Was going to use the fluro fixture and modify it to suit the leds

This might be a little different from other but I installed a couple of strips of the "Dioder" color-changing LED's, from Ikea, to backlight our 300G. The tank is the focal point of our living room and we wanted to create a sort of ambient effect, with the emergent plants being back-lit.
The dioders have a little dial which allows you to adjust to color to any part of the RGB spectrum. I usually keep it on "blue" at night...
Very cool! My tank is in my room so I have trouble falling asleep when there's too much light. If I put a tank out in my living room I might try this. Actually come to think of it my blue moonlights already do this. Since I have a canopy and the back is open the blue lights show on the wall a bit.
Hey Trick, Quick question for you, On the drivers for the white leds, Can you tell me which terminal on the ac input is the positive/live? Im guessing its the one that leads to the small fuse but just want to be sure.
