I am a graduate student and live paycheck to paycheck... as an undergrad I worked decent summer jobs and made enough money to live relatively comfortably and have some left over - not anymore!

Worrying about money isn't fun, but I just have to save where I can now. Living with a girlfriend versus 4 other roommates means I pay a lot more now, but it is still fun. I've got enough fish food to last me a while and I have a few nice tanks, so I'm good :)

Wow, is this part time or full? Its MUCH more here in my area...

Its full time and it was one of the cheapest places but still nice. Similiar places were in the $700 monthly range. Plus you got to remember, money goes ALOT further in KY then the Bay area. I have an uncle in San Jose and his 1700sqft home with barely a yard cost him about as much as a 6000sqft Mansion with a good bit of land a little outside of Louisville...

Heck, gas was $1.34 yesterday! It cost me only $15.46 to fill up from completely empty! In the summer I was putting easily $40 in every fill up. I fill up about once a week so that is a $100 saving a month right there....talk about an economic stimulus for us!

I budget. I pay all my bills/rent/food 1st, then anything leftover I save. I spend a little too.

I chose yes, with savings, but I could also say no, that I have a surplus. Alot of people I know are broke every month and they make more than me. They just spend foolishly. I guess some poeple just can manage money good.

With my family, however big the paycheck may be, it is gone....

i save now, £400 a month, but i never used to. i lived month to month cos i drank heavily and was heavily in debt. now thats sorted im smarter with money and have begun to save, especially needed since im coming out the raf soon. although the 2 pensions and lump sum will help.

i dont live paycheck to paycheck.
simply because i only work 2 months a year.
the rest of the year is school. :D
so i live off my allowance.
normally save quite a bit, then spend it all on fish.
dont think i'd survive for long without getting anymore money,IF i stopped getting free food and stuff from my parents.

if i didnt blow my money on stupid stuff and kept my investments up i should be able to live of my savings and investments for the rest of my life but its hard because i have a thirst to spend money

P2P-No savings.

But that's only because I went without a job for 6 months and had to live off credit cards and now I'm trying to pay them down. I also had my cat break her jaw, radiator busted and my computer get hit by lightening all within a month of each other. Got crap for luck this year...

But I DO love my new job, even if the pay is not where I think it ought to be. Better than not being able to pay my bills at all.

i dont live p2p
when i was younger i used to spend spend and then spend some more and then met my current G/F who liked to save.
i taught her how to spend and she taught me how to save and we sorta meet in the middle.
we always save money each month and it usually gets spent on holidays (i try and have at least 6 trips away a year).
my recent trip too and around egypt plus i just bought another car has not helped and wiped that out a little but its building up again.
