Do you punish your fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I had my Vieja Synspillum attack my Oscar during WC last weekend and i was so fed up with him, that I put in the net and only cornered her once.
Since that time if she's bothering my O I take the net and show it to her.
And she stops and hides.
She seems to get the message.
I'll see what happens and post in a few days.
When my big plecos where fighting over territory in the beginning I litteraly beat them with a stick, only to get them looking at me like;"Now what cha trying to pull, where in the middle of a fight!". And they kept at it!
With Oscars fighting I know someone who only had to put the net in the thank when they quarreled and it stoped 2 days after!!!

I really don't think anyone here is meaning to actually abuse their pets. 9 times out of 10 it's just a in-the-moment of deal. You see your Oscar hog all of the food and you get fed up with it for the 15th time and you hit the water/take the nearest thing(net) and try to get them away/or just push them away real hard. Sure they might not understand at all, but sometimes you just have to show them that your boss. You are here because of me in this tank and I am feeding you, your not going to kill my prize fish or eat everything and let noone else eat. :) That was fun.

aw your lil stinker left you a lil stinker, Lil_Stinker. im sorry i came back into this thread because i liked your name:D.

So logically... I should just shrug my shoulders at my Oscar ramming his face into the glass everytime I open a book to read? because in my naughtyness I would toss some pellets into the tank when he first started the behavior to discourage the face to glass abuse he was inflicting upon himself?

Sure is one stupid fish... Outsmarted me.
