Do your fish have annoying habits?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If its annoying is usually pretty entertaining as well. Take the good with the bad.
The worst habit in my tank is when my Fene spits sand in the filters intakes. He has a wild personality.

I can't point a camera at the tank without getting a frame full of Oscar.

I had a 55g with parrot fish in the bedroom. Every night they would rearrange the tank and would wake me up several times a night. They would also bite my hand any chance they got.

Ive tried rubber lip plecos a couple times and each time the cichlids flipped them over and ate there insides:(
My BP tries to get in fights that it cant win and usually the others just ignored him.
But I might have to Euthanize it because this time the midas fought back and ripped a large chunk out of the BPs gill and is now having swim bladder problems. the turtles will have a good meal if its condition worsens.
My jag likes to sleep next tot the intake and has got stuck twice.
My midas cichlids territory is 1/3 of the tank.

my oscar tries to eat the bubbles on the surface of the water and ends up smashing my glass top....

....he does this only at night when im trying to sleep :(

I hate when another fish bullies one. That is why I now prefer large fast schooling fish with my fancy plecos. I have had about every time of cichlid at one time or another. Always ended up dedicateing one tank to the cichlid. I guess if I had a really large tank 400-500 gallons it wouldn't have been a promblem.
