Do your fish have annoying habits?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
20-something" Pacu- biting my arowana; occasionally chasing bala sharks; trying to take food out of my hand while I'm handfeeding my eel; splashing insane amounts of water out onto the floor (and sometimes onto me); getting scared and cutting/scraping itself on driftwood and holey rock; hogging all of the cichlid gold so I have to put a ton of it in ther so I can be sure that my balas are getting fed; knocking off/down/over plants, heater, the bottom half of my fx5's intake, xp4 output, etc; making my aro jump; always being on the side that I am working on during waterchanges and getting in the way

~2' Silver aro- jumping; getting over-excited and splashing during feeding time

14" Tire track eel- mistaking my fingers for krill; hogging most of the krill I give to my two LSN's and senegal bichir

2x ~8" LSN's- getting spooked and running into the glass; only staying in a 5"x12" section of the tank for most of the day; not eating aggressively enough

13-14" gibby- turning from it usual nice leopard pattern into ugly camo colors and lowering its huge dorsal fin as soon as I get the camera out :irked:; refusing all food (including cucumber) except for krill, lettuce, and algae wafers

I only have five fish (excluding those in my two mini-tanks) that don't have any annoying habits: my bala sharks, and my bichir.

My 17" pbass is used to hand feeding so during waterchanges he'll mistaken my fingers for a shrimps. I would normally use my hand to push him away if he dares come near me.

If its annoying is usually pretty entertaining as well. Take the good with the bad.
The worst habit in my tank is when my Fene spits sand in the filters intakes. He has a wild personality.
This woud really pissed me off too.

My pleco that doesn't move at all unless he gets scared. My dragon goby that doesnt move at all. My nazi blackskirt fighting off the entire school of blackskirts. My stupid guppy that couldn't give birth at all (eventually became bichir food) My green terror that doesn't have the balls to eat food if im still above the tank, and for the most part is scared of me. And my female betta that follows the net around when im trying to net other fish, or water hazards

my wolf, likes to dig little areas around the tank for him to lay in. is scared to come out to me.

for some reason he likes to just sit right next to beefheart and rather then eat it.

also likes to catch his food. and while holding there tail bash there head along the tank. then take it into his cave and spit it out and stare are it until he thinkis its time to then eat it head first. then turn and stare at me when he is in his cave.

My archers, Just chillin on the sofa, drinking a beer and eating some popcorn. Then BOOM straight to the face with a nice stream of water. Stupid fish - I do not look like a cricket.

Yeah they are pretty awesome, especially when my wife wears shiny earrings and sits close to the tank:ROFL:

my puffer keeps passin it to the right...
:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:that cracks me up.

my pet snapping turtle always grabs the nets when someone other than me trys to feed him. i feed him by hand but others dont want to touch the fish so they stick the net in his tank and they end up playing tug of war with him. he usually wins. lol:headbang2
