Does anyone here actually have a large Asian RTC?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
get it get it get it get it get it lol once you move and you have no fish you have no worries about having enough space for it lol

Thats one pretty fish! Mrs Satan is giving me a look and saying no though:( (and I think i want to break her down on letting me get a Goonch over an ARTC now, will have to see how it goes;))

Lets hope it stays friendly towards the RTC! Is it just lack of space that you're selling it?

Don't know if anyone saw it, but on "monster fish" on NATGEO they had one in a pond that was about 36". The pond was filled with SA RTC, Asian RTC, Arapaima, Alligator Gars, etc and people paid to fish in it. Talk about awesome.

I had three wild caught ARTCs (some time back). they were housed with 2 RTCs (larger by quite abit). While they did not end up RTC food they did not prosper and died (not eaten or mauled - just dead). So i am on the side of the fence that says these are not so aggressive (but like i said these were a lot smaller than RTCs).

I am sure they were ARTCs (these are fairly common local fish here) the adult specimens here on the fish market are anywhere between 2'-4' (i have seen much larger - 72kg specimen caught - dont know the precise length though

ARTC is a food fish here ^^ ... quite good actually
