  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
lots of trouble for me. i have to lie about how much i paid for all the fish i bought. if my parents hassle me, i tell them i'll sell everything and get a dog (they hate dogs)

financially it kills me and i would say its better then spending my money on booze and going out, but i still do both of those... so yeah financially a real kick in the ball bag

but i wouldnt change that for the world.

if your going to go into debt, it may as well be for some monster fish :)

On the same boat man, how much sailor jerry rum did i drink last night? My heed is bumpin!

my dad approves of my fish keeping addicting but my mom hates it lol i have a 30 gallon a 20 gallon long a 10 gallon hex a 5.5 gallon a 38 gallon a 30 gallon pond and soon this spring a 281 gallon pond lol she gets mad when i set up more tank she said no tanks in my room and now i have 1 30 gallon 1 20 gallon 1 1gallon and a 5.5 gallon :D she lets me set them up cuz she knows what im doing is better then drugs lol and i have to lie about the price of the fish cuz she says now to spend more then $2 on a fish:ROFL:

I don't get in any trouble at all. my fiance is really getting into the fish hobby with me so it's all good :)

It only gets me in trouble financially. :D

Yeah, no kidding. I spend at least $300 a month on the hobby.;)

Great to see how many other folks have posted that it's helped 'em with other habits. Was keeping fish before I cleaned up, but was appalled at how my tanks looked when I got outta rehab. Dug in and got 'em ship shape and it has been great therapy ever since. Almost 15 years clean and sober here, one day at a time.

The only problem the hobby creates for me is when I make a mess in the house. Mrs. Wyomingite gets peeved. 'bout half done with the fishroom, she's OKed me getting a coupla more large tanks to fill in the gaps and says she doesn't care if I build a mega -monster tank in a separate building as long as all my other "business" is in order. It sure beats the old days...

your brother might be on to something, listen to him some more.

Anyway, right now with the way things are with money, fishkeeping does have to take a backseat, but still that just means no rare expensive fish or huge tanks for me
Yeah there are other priorities in life, ive realised that now.

I mean they cost a lot to run and feed etc... even when in the trade, and especially with how tight money is in the world right now. Weve got the credit crunch thing going on over here.

Do you guys get in trouble with family due to your fish keeping hobby, mines were not too stoked at first when the space taking up gradually got larger as well as trapsing through the house with buckets of water lol
