Meh who cares. I don't have a silver, but if I did and it got DE, I think it would look even cooler. Imagine your friends coming over and seeing a 3+ foot fish with their eyes all jacked up, it would look Monster as MFK can get.

Plus if people can keep dogs with no tails or cats that are born with 3 legs or frogs with legs deformed and still love and cherish them then who cares if a fish has some weird looking eyes. Makes it unique in my opinion.
true :D

how does it make a silver with DE unique when most of the get DE

a silver without drop eye is unique

Not unique for the species. But just unique in general. I'd like it, that's all Im saying.

No way, life happens. I had a friend who had a really cool Australian Shepherd, she went missing for several days, they found her in a Coyote trap. The Vet had to amputate the front right leg at the shoulder. Well the dog pulled through, she was my favorite dog out of the 15 dogs on the ranch. It sure would have been easy to put her down.... so no, drop eye isn't that big of a deal.

i would get piss off than thinkin bout it ive put too much into this fish so still love it same. my silvers gettin a slight de in right eye

my red aro has drop eye
i couldnt care less
in the wild silver aros get drop eye in adullthood too
so....who cares

my red aro has one eye thats is a DE, dont know why, probably hit it when it was youg
i got it for a bargain price so id ont mind
and its a nice one
My green aro has a severe drop eye too but I'm not gonna complain since it's free..
& yeah it's a nice one too.. :D

I've been thinking, if a submersible light is placed at the bottom of the tank, will it "cure" DE? The logic is that the aro will prevent itself from looking down at the bright light..
Has anyone tried this method?

Probably would if DE was cause of the problem and not the result of the problem. DE is not caused by the arowana looking down.

I thought it was rare for asians to get de. My red doesnt have it and hopefully never will. If it got de i would sell it cheaply. Baby silver aros are awesome but i will never buy one again because de is gonna happen. If i had to get a SA aro it would be a black. Just bc of DE

I don't get why some think drop eye is some sort of disease, the aro gets it from looking down all the time from what I understand and it makes perfect sense. If you were up top all the time you would want to be looking down below too. It's no biggy and the aro are fine with it.
