does fish feel pain

I have given injections to koi before and yeah they feel it. You pretty much have to roll them into a bag. Fish also flinch at iodine in open wounds.
If you use clove oil just until a fish loses their balance then put iodine on an ulcer the don't flinch. They also have always seemed more active in general after being treated with clove oil.
Maybe my perception is skewed but I would think that it's because they feel less pain after the use of anesthetic. If not then what? They saw the light and were glad they didn't have to go into it?
Has anyone used finquel (ms-222) and seen the same? I would think it would be.

hahahah i see sandtiger is back to bashing me again. what is it to you if i raise monster fish up as food for my table. people farm cows and pigs all day. as a matter of fact i have kept fish for about 20 years now and in total have probably ate 5 of my own fish. if i can not find homes that are suitable they go down my hatch. we have had this conversation before so why must you bring it back up. i get into these topics because i feel they are funny and i like seeing peoples reactions. will the fact that fish feel pain stop fishermen and aquarists from doing certain things. i highly doubt it, save your snide ass comments for somewhere else. get a life and quit trying to criticize people. if you dont like the topic then move on.
I've read that they dont feel pain. I dont see any facts that they do, besides ur cases that they have a "brain" and a nervous system. Its not even close to developed enough. The only thing they get even close to pain is Shock, which leads to stress, all because of non-felt pain 
but that is just my opinion also.

There was one study done where they injected bee venom into the lips of trout.

This is not about pain exactly but is still interesting. It comes from the book "Fish Behavior: In the Aquarum and in the Wild" by Stephan Reebs.
"... the eating habits of largemouth bass. These fierce predators can quickly learn to avoid toad tadpoles while still consuming frog ones. Toad tadpole are notoriously distasteful and, like like the eggs or the adults, nauseatte those predators naive enough to eat them. (It must be said that a very hungry bass, its back to the wall, will stoop to eat toad tadpoles. But if the reaction of other fish is anything to go by- they violently shake their head and you can almost see the grimace on their face- having tadpoles on the menu is no great culinary experiance for a fish."
