Whats up eric

you gotta make sure the connectors for the intake is completely submerged or air-tight..

If its not.. the fx5 is sucking in air which is causing the low flow and probably some gurgling noise from the filter..

I had the same problem while doing a water change. I didn't fill the tank back up completely and what is happening to you pretty much happened to me. It was frustrating the living sh*t out of me..

They are all the way in the water... where the pcs and the hoses connect its under the water level.
Ill have a better idea today if I hear anything funny or if the microbubbles started again. I did notice the water power was the same and thats what is getting to me... the bubbles just made more aeriation for me:D

maby there is something wrong with the pump did you buy it from someone you trust?

Yes

I doubt there is something wrong with it... I think Im doing something wrong since this is my first X5?

Did it last night with no baskets... didnt make that much of a diff.
Im wondering if it is normal and maybe the pics just looked bad??
Or does it shoot the water clearly across the tank?

Today's water change day for 2 of my 125's that have an FX5 on them. I'll take pictures and maybe you can compare. It won't be til later this evening. It doesn't just shove the water across the tank but it ripples up the top of the water pretty good. On the 125 g tanks when the water's drained down I have to point the nozzles down or water would be spraying all over the wooden canopys.

Thanks, ill wait to see them

Im going to try relocate the filter... hoping thats it.
My outlet is right over the filter and the inlet hose is about a 6' to the plastic inlet

See what happends

Ok, West, here's the picture. I only took it of the one tank because the canopy on the other tank is a pain to get off. It's gushing out pretty good, I was getting splashed taking the picture. Just FYI I haven't cleaned that particular canister out for 4 wks.

That doesn't look normal either! Ill have to get a pic of my output! and show how strong the flow is,mine shoots halfway across the tank.On my fx5's all i run for media is Biomax,i have cut the hosing as short as possible and i have also removed the multi-directional output nozzles.. all this makes a big difference in flow/output.So far both pictures don't come anywhere near the output of my fx5's.:)
