That is very kind for you to say, thank you:) The real test will be getting shots like this outside. I think having things staged in a controlled setting takes some of the need for real skill away, but still great for learning!

If you're worried about the placement of your focus with a shallow depth of field with that M lens, consider using a bracketing technique.

Focus at the front of the subject to be photographed, then slowly turn the focus ring while firing shots toward the back of the subject. You'll have a variety of focal points with the same exposure, and if need be, you can combine them for a composite shot.
I do need to try that! But I need to find a different editing app I think. The one I’m using won’t auto layer and I’m finding it very hard to do it manually.

Trumpeter swans and some Canadian geese in the field across from my house. They won’t let me get very close without flying off.
