I do the same thing.
I’ve stopped on very busy roads to save turtles. Dangerous I know.
I hear from the wife every time.
Just did this last week with a Box turtle.
Which I just found out was illegal.
Here in NC you cannot possess (with a few exceptions) any native turtle without a collection permit, even if it’s to temporarily move it from a road.
Nice save BTW!
Yeah, it can be dangerous. But more so for the poor turtles. I hate that jerks hit them on purpose. It makes me so angry so I try and move them when I can. I don’t relocate them, just move them to the side they were walking towards. The females are always on the move this time of year. And from what I’ve read moving them like that is permitted here. You just can’t keep them.
Glad I’m not the only one trying to help the poor little guys:)

Lots of garden spiders and that's one cute little raccoon.
These spiders have figured out the safe places to make their webs. I don’t find nearly as many spiders since getting the guineas.
I know the raccoons nest in that tree every year, but I don’t always get to see them. He was very adorable ?
