from your own words you broke it :D

yes, you got me, 3 times I have managed to snap those nipples by moving a hose. = b.s. design flaw.

but I did not break the motor on the pro 3, the seals on the pro 3 (6 months!), the thermostat for the 2128 thermal, the seals on 2 2128's (8 months use).;)

I wanna know about this Payroll thing...where do I sign up? :D

tank125, It is unfortunate that you have had all those problems with the Eheims and parts seem to be unavailable, but you stated you were a store owner, so that means you have sold more than the 4 you had problems with?

Guys this is his point of view of the products he bought.
Just like people have bad experiences with buying fish from different vendors it happens. No need to turn this topic into something personal

the ones I sold I can only say that as they failed the customer they cost me money because of the unavailability of parts and the customer not having a backup filter for 6 months! I had to front them fluvals to compensate. I was not interested in selling them for very long. after the first one failed and left me looking like the bad guy I stopped recommending them and stocking them.

no one has responded to why an eheim is better, because they are not. they are just more expensive and unnecessarily complex. they do not warrant their "lexus" price tag.

That is a valid point. Retailing them without proper parts availability and company backing would suck. It sounds like the complaints and brakage would be covered under the Manufactures warrenty, When you agreed to handle the Eheim line what was the deal for warrenty?

The Eheim substrate and flow rates are what make them Eheims...I mean c'mon isn't that the basic variables between most all canisters? But that is a gimme to anybody who thinks about it...what else is there?

I think you have every right as a retailer to carry the product line that produces what you need to keep unlocking that door every morrning...

Arn't you glad you didn't sell to this guy?

Why are Eheims Better?
1. Self Priming
2. The Quietest filter ever, period, bar-none!
3. Proven to be better than Fluval in the efficiency of Biological filtration.
4. Warranty is 3 years, unheard of with any other filter.
5. I am in Socal farther from Eheim than you and dont have any problems getting parts, even though all Ive needed was gaskets which is clearly stated in the manual needs to be replaced at certain intervals.
6. Tubing and optional installation sets on Eheim is far superior in quality.
7. Visible flow indicator on the Eheim lets you know when to clean them.
8. Uses half the electricity.

Thats off the top of my head! If you do simple maintenance ie,. lubricating the double tap, and applying the grease they provide to the sealing ring and primer head once a year they are trouble free silent and very efficient. Sorry you have had problems, but I sent you a pm offering parts to you if you need them!
