should i get one? i think the rtc are great looking fish. hearing these stories, i would put it in my 35 gal so it wont eat my fish. i would then sell it. would you guys recomend putting it in 100 gal with a motoro ray, spotted gar, and a payara?

I wouldn't unless u already have a indoor pond. Like this thread is trying to point out plans fall through. If u don't already have a pond than there is a chance that in 2 months when he out grows ur 100gal u will be screwed. I have one in a 100gal right now. Bought him a lil over a month ago at 2.5" now he's around 6. Maybe a lil over on a steady diet of talipa, massivore, shrimp and as of today banana lol. But I already have a 8x2' round pond for him. I expect he will out grow the 100gal in a month and a half. So keep that in mind

exactly, the point of this thread was to point out that many people take these fish on but cannot actually do it. i was actually hoping for more examples on this but most who post here seem to be legit. i was looking for the failure stories hahaha

I'd start with the 100g and in two months move it to a 200g. Then, in six months when it's a foot long, get it into a pond before it's stunted. That is, if you already have these tanks and tropical ponds at hand.
i dont have those tanks at hand but. i heard that if you feed them once a week they wont grow fast. idk. im either putting the RTc in my 35 gal, or some red belly paranhas

well instead of a pond, i could trade him to my friend with 1000 gal tanks and a pond. so in that case, what would you guys say?

I mean if ur positive he would take him than it might be ok. But generally I think that if u can't house a fish for life than don't get it. Because sometimes plans fall through. And im trying to be nice/helpful and not jump on u like many would on this forum but As for feeding it once a week so it won't grow fast that's just dumb. U wouldn't starve a dog so he would stay a puppy so don't starve a fish. Plus it really wouldn't work. When fish are young it programmed into there dna to grow whenever energy is present so he would still outgrow ur 35 in a matter of weeks. Also I believe rb need larger tank than 35gal to. Again not trying to be a ass. Just stating facts

well im a rtc x tsn owner, and its great! yes it is a beast, ate my aro, tank king, and is just soooo cute!!!!1
