DROID X vs. I-PHONE 4gs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Definitely the Droid, had both, no contest

my wife's droid is nothing less than spectacular. descent battery life and everything including GPS in AWESOME and fast. I agree with Jose man, sounds like you got the one bad toyota in the bunch, trade it in hahaha

I'm getting the EVO soon, so we'll test it out. :naughty:

These "so called" Motorola engineers created a phone ripping off like 5 other ideas. Im not saying it wasnt a good idea or one of the best marketing plans of all time because it was. Its a cheap product with a cheap OS.

When driod owners make statements like this.

Most of the time you never get the reception to realize the fast speeds..
Makes me think how many people hate Apple just from their friends complaining. If you live on the East Coast, You will agree ATT owns all. I just love apple because of their state of the art designs and concepts, as well as how reliable everything they make is. My G6, Macbook Pro, and Iphone have never caused me real problems and Apple support team is great help, Not a bunch of outsourced Indians who cant speak english.

Droid. I have both a Droid 1 and the Droid X as my wife gets the hand me down phones. LOL.

I enjoy the ability to mod my phone should I chose via rooting or just DL apps not found in the marketplace in stock form. I like the ability to go to watch videos on the phone while traveling since I have the flash player now and on the Droid X screen it is just awesome.

The true test for the phone OS will be later when iPhone comes to Verizon (if it ever does as the rumors are always churning) and then give people the choice on a proper network. ATT might work for some but on the whole their service is shoddy and normally ranked last in most surveys...

Apple will always have their cult following but their level of new features for the OS has greatly diminished and their crank out of once a year updates is slow for the new world where phones are becoming more and more a part of our lives and tech needs to update faster then once a year. The new gingerbread and such look awesome as Google continues to throw in updates about once every 4-6 months adding more and more features.

in such a short period of time Android OS has caught up to iPhone and surpassed it in monthly sales (though mainly due to the # of devices it is on but that too speaks to the diversity of the OS). I just see it as continuing to grow and get better and better...

One should be leary when talking about ripping off ideas and such. Perhaps you should ook into how LG sued Apple and was later settled when Apple ripped off their touch screen interface portions from their Prada phone and others. Apple is constantly in court battles for their phones same as everyone else since they infringe on patents. They are no better then the others...

I live in Eastern PA and can tell you that out here ATT is spotty and I am in a Philly suberb. I have yet to lose 3G on my VZW phones though. Heck my Software company switched to VZW because we have been losing so many calls and emails on our BBerries with ATT.

I will totally agree that Apple products are high end in terms of looks and finish but then again you pay an arm and a leg for that and you lose out on a lot of internal power that a similar product in a pricepoint woudl give you. There is a significant premium because it is an Apple product. I tend to value my money and thus purchase the more sound product which is why all of my apple products have been replaced in recent years except for my one work mac since when it comes to any type of graphic design Mac owns all IMHO.

I've been on AT&T, and have owned Apple products before. Both experiences have left a sour taste in my mouth and I won't be going back. Apple's customer service is terrible IMO. They have scripted dialogue in order to deceive their customers. It's been put out on the web, and I experienced it myself when dealing with an out-of-warranty iPod which had a recall issued. They'll give you the run-around and BS excuses until you say the magic word.

But of course, each person will have different experiences. I've had nothing but good encounters with Verizon CS reps, and no, they're not from India.

Google/Motorola customer serivce, well I don't know, that doesn't matter to me since I don't need them for anything. Thanks to open source Android, I can find what I need when I need it online. No need to call a 1-800 number. If the phone craps out, that's why we have insurance available. Good luck with your iPhone if something happens to it.
