I was with ATT back in 2001... had to switch service because I get no signals at home... almost 10 years later... there still that signal problem...
Ha! I remember those days in my old apartment. With AT&T, nothing. Had to sit huddled by the window to get even the slightest bit of reception to send a text. Switched to Verizon, full bars all day everyday.

The Droid Pro is a serious letdown IMHO. It was supposed to be a much better phone but then it looks like they turned course to bring RIM people over.

The 2GHZ NVidia phone looks promising though I dont like physical keyboards any more. Not with the smoothness of current touch screens.

I will most likely wait till they release the first Droid LTE phone and upgrade to that then...

I still remember Apple's statement on that one. They admitted they screwed up big time, but they still found a way shift the blame to AT&T

We have discovered the cause of this dramatic drop in bars, and it is both simple and surprising.

Upon investigation, we were stunned to find that the formula we use to calculate how many bars of signal strength to display is totally wrong. Our formula, in many instances, mistakenly displays 2 more bars than it should for a given signal strength. For example, we sometimes display 4 bars when we should be displaying as few as 2 bars. Users observing a drop of several bars when they grip their iPhone in a certain way are most likely in an area with very weak signal strength, but they don’t know it because we are erroneously displaying 4 or 5 bars. Their big drop in bars is because their high bars were never real in the first place.

Based on my experience motorola is a crapy brand. If you want to go with an android go with an HTC. Otherwise 4g is a great choice. I love my 3gs (with T-mobile).

Yeah...I remember the rumors of insane processor speeds, but really it's nothing new. Good thing I'm still under contract, so it forces me to wait another year, since I'm not about to pay retail prices for one of these phones. I can only imagine what Android will be a year from now. The X will seem like an old VCR compared to a high def Bluray player :)

I'm not crazy about Motorola hardware either, but I do like what they've done with the Droid line. But their camera leaves much to be desired. iPhone kills the Motorola camera in every way shape and form.

I like the Sense theming on the HTC phones but their hardware in general is cheap to me. The weak plastic casings and the non gorilla glass screens leave a lot to be desired durability wise. Sure the motorola lines might not be the best looking out there but they are as powerful and IMHO more durable.

Before smart phones I tried to stick with Nokia (the best hardware) and avoided Motorala at all cost.

These days Verizon seems to have the best reception but I like the GSM phones for the convenience that they offer. When I go to Europe all I need to do is to switch the sim card with a local one (phone has to be unlocked) and I'm ready to go (no roaming fees)

the way I see it, Iphone makes alot of sense specially if you own a Mac (for obvious reasons ) , otherwise you should also look into alternatives and decide for yourself.
