Prove it. I have not had a 40 gallon tank, but I'm sure it doesn't weight 60 lbs.

You have never had one, and I have one right here. Who needs to prove what? I told you how much my tank weighs. You need to prove me wrong not the other way around.

Nah, you won't hit 400 lbs. Assume he's got 40 lbs gravel. Then 10 lbs tops for filtration, powerheads etc. 40 gallon tank, less than 10 lbs. However, when you add the weight of the substrate and fish, you take away from volume of water, so you don't actually have 40 gallons of water in the tank at a given time.
Made by who ?
10lbs for a 40 is ridiculously low, try 50-60.

do the math and stop arguing.lol

1 gallon of water equals 8.33 lbs.
whats left is the tank weight.
"might work"LOL

I seriously doubt the validity of your site. You do the math for the 180 gallon tank. Water weight is 1501.2 lbs (using 8.34 lbs per gallon). Listed weight is 2100 lbs. You go find me a 180 gallon tank that weighs 600 lbs dry.

You have to take into account the weight of the rocks lights lids ect.

I would guess that a 180 with non-tempered glass weighs 350+ a tempered glass tank would weight less, I'm not sure if they come tempered or not.
