EBJD Possibilities...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
1st im not trying to highjack your thread so please excuse the pics just wanted to show you... This is my BG Female she's in her spawning colors and when she's not but as you see really not that much beard or spangle... So I'd have to agree only way you know is if they have EBJD's or if you got it from a breeder that sold you a true BG.... And my male BG that she's paired with has a pretty good spangling on him. ive got other BG males and they have very little spangling(last picture)...But none the less you can't tell by looking in my opinion... Hope that helps and once again sorry for putting pics on your thread

Hey this thread was created for learning so I thank you for adding your pictures(although my damn blackbberry won't let me view them right now). I like informative words but pictures help with different points of views. I will view them later. Are the bgjd's more expensive?

Well thanks guys. They are probably both normal jd's. Can looks determine if they carry the blue gene?

How do you sex jacks again? The males have no spangles on jaw right and females do? I forget. Non the less the one with all the pearls and spangles on the body looks bg

You actually can to an extent. Blue gene jack dempseys tend to have more spangles on the body that normal jacks. This isn't 100% but can work.

Really? Here we go again.

You can't determine if they're BG just from looks. You have to breed one with an EBJD to be sure.

Exactly. One of my BG is super spangled while the other just has a beard. Maybe you can tell by the sparkle in their eyes...lol, or at least the owner's eyes
