EBJD Possibilities...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have not seen a true albino JD. There are 3 basic color forms in the hobby today - wild type , electric blue, & gold. The electric blue has an overexpression of the blue. The gold has a reduced expression of melanin or dark brown/black pigment. True albino's have no melanin vs. a reduced amount. I am not saying it is not possible to have an albino JD, just saying no one has found one with that color pattern or if they have it has not been documented, or propogated and distributed.

Mhm, in fact there's very few albino american cichlids in general, for whatever reason. :)

For you of all people to say you haven't seen one... Its pretty safe to say there isn't any out there. You have seen them all and documented percentages. But I do understand why you answered that way lol. Azedenkae your right, its wierd how the americans don't throw albinos from time to time BUT for some reason albino(red and tiger) oscars are a color morph of their own...
