EBJD x BGJD - 2nd try!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well i have had two spawns from my large male EBJD and female BGJD. Needless to say, both spawn wans't fertilizes. The smaller pair spawned last week and 35% hatched and then the d@mn male ate them. So all in all i had three spawns and no fry. So i hope yours is good, because my luck isn't.

You may want to separate half of the wigglers in another tank. I use the air hose from a air stone or sponge filter to gently siphon them out into a clear pitcher, then I put them in a 10 gallon tank. This will diversify your risk. I like 80-82 degrees.

Thanks! The eggs hatched 2 days ago. I think about half of them hatched..it's hard to tell since the wrigglers are all piled up now...I'll keep a very close eye and just hope for the best.

I have a 20 gal that I can put the fry into but I’m a little skeptical about moving them at such an early age. Have you experienced any loss due to the move or am I just worrying about it too much? Also, any suggestion on what to feed the fry once they start free swimming? I’m hatching some brine shrimp and will put in a bunch of live plants in the tank so hopefully the fry can find something to snack on throughout the day since I can feed them every few hours while I’m at work…

I have a EBJD male and a normal jd female im trying to get some BGJD out of them there alone in a 55g. Are there anyways to trigger some egg laying there always dancing around with eachother and with eachother..
