I have a EBJD male and a normal jd female im trying to get some BGJD out of them there alone in a 55g. Are there anyways to trigger some egg laying there always dancing around with eachother and with eachother..

What are their sizes? Temp of the tank? How's your tank decorated ? without knowing a whole lot about your pair, it's hard to tell what exactly needs to be done but normally if I want a pair to bond/spawn... I'll start with a big (50%) WC, increase the temp to about 80-82, feed them high protein diet, try not to bother them as much and perhaps add ditcher fish...

males about 5" female about 3 1/2-4" shes already laid eggs before, when he wasn't in there. Tank has two clay pots and black stones as substrate, which my other Jds had babies on. I did a 50% water change yesterday. And my water is at 85 the tank is outside in Miami and its pretty hot out already, is that to hot :(. There by themselves right now but if I wanted to or should add a dither what should he or she be.

Seems like you're already doing all the right things...I don't think 85 is too hot. Are your fish skittish at all? If they are, your might wanna add some floating plants to make them feel safer...it worked for me with this pair. As for ditcher, I found that it's best to use the same species (jd) for this case. I used another female bg as ditcher. And what are u feeding them? I fed mine pellets and live worms when they be4 they spawn..

I have the floating plants as well forgot to note that lol. I have other jds i could put in there with them but i don't want her to pick that one instead of the EBJD male.

Both male and female are fine. just make sure the con is a lot smaller than the dempseys. A female con around 2" should do it
