Hi, my name is Mark, aka FISH HEAD )'>, and I'm an Aquaholic.
Join the MFK 12 step program.
If you are reading this, you already know you have a problem.
These are the Twelve Steps as defined by Aquaholics Anonymous:
1. We admitted we were powerless over fresh and salt water (or even brackish) that our lives had become unmanageable.
2. Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. (MFK)
3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of fish.
4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of our fish tanks.
5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs, rights, mistakes and of our great looking tanks.
6. Were entirely ready to remove ammonia and nitrates with regular water changes.
7. Humbly remove bad tank decor.
8. Made a list of all fish we had housed, and became willing to make shrines to them.
9. Made direct amends to people wherever possible, except when fighting for that rare mistagged fish at the LFS.
10. Continue to take fish inventory even though you did it 4 hours ago.
11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our fish tanks, praying for knowledge and the money to carry that out.
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to aquaholics, and to practice these principles in all our fish affairs and to spread the addiction of that which we call: the hobby of fish keeping.
*this twelve-step program has been modified, in jest, from those of Alcoholics Anonymous. I realize the seriousness of addiction and by no means am I trying belittle that fact. And I applaud those who are winning the struggle on a day to day basis.
