ahhahahhahahahhahahahhahahhahah

I just put chicken skin our 10 inch red devil in a time out in a 100g with no decor nothing but a filter and a heater. I did it last night and when I came into my restaurant he saw me from 15 feet away and bull rushed the glass

and he is not even the fish I was thinking of when I posted this thread

"Most amphibians, fishes, and reptiles can be euthanatized by cranial concussion (stunning) followed by decapitation, pithing, or some other physical method. "

From "AVMA Guidelines on Euthanasia"....... http://www.avma.org/issues/animal_welfare/euthanasia.pdf

Looks like hitting the fish on the head with the hammer (stunning) and then repeating this a few times (effectively pithing) would be an approved method by the American Veterinary Medical Association.

I learned a new word today - "pithing" means "scrambling brain tissue"....yummy :WHOA:

Burt :)

I wouldn't kill any fish or animal for that matter. I feel any animal has just of much of a right to live as a human does. If I had one of my fish cause a problem for me I would either find another home for him or buy a tank for him. Thats why I have two tanks with just one fish a piece in. I have killed fish before when fishing but that was when I was young and dumb and wouldn't do it again. The only way I would kill an animal is if it was suffering and there was nothing that could be done for them.

I've never killed a perfectly healthy fish, but I have koi, and they get ulcers that just get so bad you can't fix...

My method... Clove Oil.

Puts them into a coma, and then they just go peacefully.

Iv killed 2 fish before. To many fish in my 55gallon way back when and I wanted fewer fish. So i took em out cut their heads off then their bodies in pieces so I could flush em down the toilet.

Sometimes I get that feeling with the fish in my 330gal, but after sitting down and watching them, they grow on me again so I dont. So many fish in this world I want, but not a big enough tank.
