face biting

The moke is stalking the del cause on the blood smell from its tail, i would remove the moke or put a divider, then i would add maybe 2 more sen like what the others are suggesting.

If that was me i would take out the decors or rearranged them, then isolate the moke and let the del and the new sen claime most of the tank as territory then introduce the moke after a month or so.

What are the size difference anyway?
How often you feed?

I dont see the moke can eat the del but worst case senerio is when the moke grab holds of the del and do a deathroll.
You think a retro would've okay. 6 inch sen aren't available? Or should I wait?

So far only thing moke and del are eating is tilapia. I feed every other day. But I alternate between tilapia and pellets. They've also been eating the green tiger barbs.maybe should switch to feeding them every day? Gonna get some more food for them this weekend.

I miss typed my post it should have read "no way this is predation" i think it kind of does make a difference only in terms of learning or discussing their behaviors. Especially if it is eating already i dont see many fish wasting the energy on making a meal out of a fish that large.
Either way it does suck
Thanks jaws. Not sure if they are eating enough. Both refuse pellets....but eat tilapia the two times a week they get it. Oh and they are both eating tiger barbs. Should I feed every day or more?

Del is 6inch
Moke is 8inch
Albino is 3 inch
Both moke and del are about an inch in girth. Moke maybe a little larger.

kno4te kno4te what size tub? Should I put a HOB filter on it? Or can I use the 10 gal?

Sorry for all the posts everybody.

Big thing is figure how long to keep it in there. I'd say use the 10g if it's a short time.

Can get 50 g tote and will be good in there. Can place a hob but make sure u get a cover and cut enough space out. Keep the water a little low to avoid jumping.

That's not a bad price on retro. Becarful as retro are usually one of the most mislabeled ujs. Could get a palmas or a golddust or polli. Then it's not such a good price.

Wait the plys are eating live food?
In my experience with polys eating live is that they become more aggressive. When i was new to the polys i did a experiment on them after reading that they can be more aggressive when you feed live food such as feeders or any kind of live fish and the poly did become more aggressive especially some of the ornates. I remember asking here if feeding froven fish like silverside, smelt ir anchovies can raise their aggressiness and they said no so i tried the feeding them frozen dead fish instead.

A retro will be fine with the moke aslong the size wont be a big difference.

If i were you, i would just feed them tilapia first since you dont have a poly that is trained to eat pellet and no one to teach the WC that pellets are eatable, then maybe 3 weeks or so slowly introduced the pellets, drop one piece of tilapia first and make the polys look for it, when the polys are on the move drop a couple of pellets, they might not take it but they will smell it for sure, then just alternate the tilapia and pellet till they accept the pellet.

I did this method with WC poly, Aros, Gars, and now im doing to my bass from live to frozen then to pellet.

Plus i would remove the tiger barbs like i mentioned before, feeding live imo can raise aggression.

How many barbs are left?

If they're gone I'd be personally tempted to stop feeding tilapia altogether until they start eating pellets. I'd also soak the pellets in a little thawing bloodworm juice, and maybe try a few different pellet brands. I have 3 that I use at the same time for variety.

In my experience, I found that until they're used to pellets, it helps if they're softened. They're used to eating soft foods, and I think it brings out the smell. You don't need to have a ton of water in the mix, but maybe use a dropper to be sure each pellet is wet, wait like 3-5 min and then feed.

After they eat then readily you can just dump in the tank dry.

Do you think it would be too soon to try introducing her again with the divider?

Would the 10g for a month be an okay idea?

For the 5O g tote. I still have my old HOB from Benny's tank. Although it's been bleached....I'm a little nervous to use it again since I've been having decent luck with fish living this time around. Otherwise, guess I could just buy a new one.
