Favorite LFS "CUSTOMER" STORIES ...

they may die.. but hopefully they get angry and smash the glass of the 55 and give him some of what he deserves, if they're gonna die he should at least have to pay for it

I once stood there at walmart (buying filter media) and watched a salesman's fool proof analogy of the "fish per gallon" rule.

He said that since the 10g tank that he was selling the customer was 12" long, that meant he could get 12" of fish for it.

all fine and dandy accept for when the kid walked up to the tank full of Oscar Juvies (practically fry.. they musta been 2" long barely even large enough to be being sold)..

The kid bought 6 of them and went on his merry way.

Haha, spiritofthesould punched a kid in the eye, and you want assume that a 7-9 yr old will be a serial killer because he let a fish die? What does this say about spiritofthesoul? Do you have no seperation between humans and animals? Or are humans and animals of the equal? The kid killing the fish was far from necessary, but you and the others praising spiritofthesould for punching a kid in the face obviously have their priorities mixed up!

I believe in the statement "An eye for an eye". So if I treat humans and animals as equals, :nilly:. But I do treasure life and love animals. I could spend 3 hours per night looking at my fishes and never get bored. So im sorry if me loving fishes offended you.

interesting, report him, not allowed to sell anybody under 18 fish, even feeders

Aww this thread is dying...it's one of my favorites.

Kid kept bugging me to take his big dovii, as he couldn't keep anything else with it. I kept telling him I don't have the space for it, maybe if one of our bigger fish sells and space opens up I can take it, but I told him to check with other stores.

Last week he comes in and is looking at fish...ask him if he still has the dovii "Nope...I got rid of him because you guys wouldn't take him." I was like uhh...got rid of him? He goes Yup, I got rid of him. :irked: Then he picks out a flowerhorn to buy... I told him he was going to be in the same boat once the FH gets big enough, that he won't be able to keep anything with it.. he goes yeah I know I just wanted to start over with a new fish. Ugh.

i went to petsmart and i am only 12 and i was smarter than them they were like ooooohhhhhhhhhh your son is very smart to my dad. i was just sitting there thinking "all i did was read the box" literally that is how stupid petsmart people are they have their dragon gobies listed under 30 gallon tank in fresh water! and they dont feed their fish the right stuff also they have oscars and other agressive fish under semi agressive
that is so like me!! i get the same reaction from people everywhere i go. whenever i walk into my lfs, i am pretty much selling the fish for he people there!!! im 14

what disturbs me about those kinds of petshops is the lack of knowledge they posses...i started keeping fish at the age of 10!right now im 14!!!!(just turned 14)i saw red devil cichlids posted under goldfish and the info box said that it grows to 13-18" and that it needs a 40g tank.firstly,a red devil isn't a goldfish and i've never seen a red devil even close to 18 inches
