had a guy come in yesterday (around 50 so obviously knows more then me due to my age) telling me how he used to keep dwarf oscars that didnt get past 6inches in his 3ft tank back in the day, but apparently they stopped exporting them years ago..
Not really an lfs story, but I told my old boss (who keeps fish...badly) that I'm selling my Oscar, and she wanted to see a pic, so I showed her a pic on my phone, she then says that he'd look good I'm her 10 gallon....provably a fish store allusion that made her think she could do that.
And apparently you can put rams in an mbuna tank...

I'm at the lfs and I hear these girls talking one in elementary one older late teens. The little one says look a crayfish dont those live on land too? The older one "yes they do!" Young one "well thats mean of them, to put them in the water all there life, we should get some and put them on land" The older one "yea it kinda is."
Wow. Nice one, and yes I guess I haven't contributed something and I've been bumping it because it's a good thread and I wanted to see if anybody had any more.

So I go to this fish store and I ask the guy there if this JD is the same price as the ones in the other tank he sayed the one with the convict I sayed yes and he said I think that a Texas cichild..And they had none in the tank... I told my friend I could do his job %100 better... 
I've got one. This was when I was 13. My Lfs (petland) had endlers in stock and I don't trust my Lfs for true endlers so I was going to take some to breed for feeders. All the endlers were male so I would just put them with my female guppies. First of I wasn't going to tell them this as they might have been against my idea as they probably think endlers should be kept pure Well my mom had the bright idea to tell them and the lady said, "oh, well I don't think that will happen because they are part of the tetra family and guppies aren't". And my mom, not knowing anything about fish looks at me and says " oh, did you know this". I didbt want to be rude and correct her so I just said " oh that's fine I'll take them anyways"

^ Wow, just wow.... I'm almost surpirsed she did add that tetras can't go in with guppies too and screw the whole sale over.
