Favorite LFS "CUSTOMER" STORIES ...

guy walks in and as typical just wants a dozen feeder goldfish so i start netting them out with him and his young son (maybe 3 or 4yr old) watching over.. then all of a sudden his son goes "daddy i want one", so his dad goes ok you can have one....then the boy sticks out his hand and asks if he can hold it, i look at the guy and he goes "is it ok " i tell him as long as he pays for it and hand the carrier thingy to the dad. he grabs a feeder out and hands it to his son who goes on to grab it,,, then put it in his pocket and walks away.. i found it kind of amusing but not near as amusing as the father's response which was while chuckling "haha o well, boys will be boys, he's going back to his mother's 2night anyway so it'll be a nice surprise for her"

That wasnt really the childs fault how was he to know. It was the fathers.

It would be funny if the tank was on its last legs, and the punk kid pounds on the tank and BOOM! tsunami on the kid!

Within one day of these tiny, american public school-educated morons, there were feeders ALL OVER THE FLOOR, worse than that, there were TRAMPLED FEEDERS!

I know there are a few 13year-olds on this site, but this was completely ****ing ridiculous!

There are few things I can think of that are worse than a fish being taken out of a tank and stomped upon, on purpose or not.

Sadly, I'm nearly fifteen and have some friends that probably would be stupid enough to do something like that. Also, I don't go to public school. Even private school kids can be stupid. ;)
 
I had one of the worst customers ive had yet come in today, they've been in before and have a pangasias in a 3' tank i explained how big it will get, blah blah, theyve done nothing about it. They were looking at some Tilapia mariae that we have in. I asked whats in the tank, just an assortment of community fish really, also asked tank size, sounds somewhere around 36x18x15", so i said they will be too agressive and grow too large. She was like oh, how about him (a jack dempsey) i explain how again he would grow too large, around 8" is possible weve had em in close to that. Also too agressive for a communal tank.

I said by all means buy one and risk it but no come backs. I was in no mood for them so went off to serve another customer as there was just me and my manager in and we were busy, so i got my manager to go and talk to them. Well as it quitened down he spoke to them. They left and he told me that when he explained that he wouldnt sell her the fish that she wanted she got the face on and said how she used to work for an aquatic store, he also got onto the topic of water changes she was doing a 25% every 4-5 weeks! and washing media every time under tapp water :WHOA:

She maybe comming back in this weekend for a watertest, hope not. I mean she was making him sound like the bad guy and making her sound like she knows whats the best. Hate customers like that.
 
Seconded. Even Private, Gifted and French Immersion still have low level education. I've been to all three and none have really taught me much, with the exeption of my preschool which taught me a great deal. Our system has failed.....
 
how bout a good story? the employees at the lfs near me are willing to pick through 70+ Rosy Reds to get me a single Mosquitofish, and then let me have it for free?...

i do love reading about the idiots but there are some good ones out there:)
just got back from mine...they had 2 Gold White Clouds alone in a tank so i picked them up...i already have 5 in a 5.5g tank...with a PF10 filter and religious weekly 50% WC they should be good:D
the new ones seem thrilled to be with a school of their own kinds:headbang2
