we mightve had the WORST customer ever today. about once every month, a mobile vet comes into our store to do low cost vaccinations for dogs and cats. as usual, we had a ton of people come in. while our dog trainer was doing a seminar for a customer, the dog he was training jumped on another dog, trying to play. the owner of the 2nd dog claimed the the 1st dog attacked his dog, and got extremely confrontational. the owner of the 2nd dog was also in a wheel chair due to a recent surgery. our trainer was keeping his cool the entire time while the owner got in his face and was cursing him off and whatnot, just being extremely disrespectful. at one point, the owner got out of his wheel chair and was inches from our trainers face, insulting and disrespecting him. the police were called, a report was written up, and that customer is now banned from our store. later in the night, we got an email from the corporate offices, saying that the owner of the dog called and said that our trainer was very disrespectful and confrontational towards him, and is asking for his termination from the company. i am friends with our trainer, and putting that fact aside, he did nothing wrong in the situation. the dog owner has given every employee of our store problems, and now he has taken it to the next level. i just cant understand some people.

I was working at Petsmart yesterday, and a customer came in. She had a 10 gallon tank and wanted goldfish. I didnt help her but my co-worker did and thanks to an angry customer complaint from before, we are no longer able to deny fish. The customer insisted on our two biggest ryukin goldfish, and a "suckerfish". I ask the customer "what is a suckerfish?" The cust. said, "you know the fish that eats dirt" My response was "I dont think any fish will eat dirt". Then she says "you know the fish that eats "poop", I said "poop?, I dont think any fish eat poop either" The co-worker finished bagging up the two huge goldfish. As a hobbyist I just couldnt let her buy the 3 fish without a complete explanation of how it is not a good ideal to get those three fish, I then tried to talk her out of it, telling her how they would get to big for that tank and how dirty the goldfish were. The customer start talking bad about us to her husband in spanish, and the whole time me and my co-worker are understanding every single word. She treated us like we knew nothing, sometimes I just let them buy the fish and learn on their own.

IMO stores should onle sell smaller plecos...Ottocinclus, Clown plecos, BN Plecos, etc

I've tried doing this in the LFS I work at. However, the clowns, bristlenose, rubberlips, etc. all have a heftier price tag. As sad as it is, many of the people I've dealt with want nothing to do with them for that reason alone, despite tank size.

Yesterday, my coworker left some one's water test out. The first thing I noticed was the Ammonia was 8.0ppm+. I asked him about it and he said that sample belonged to a woman using paper towels as filter media.

I'll never understand why people can't comprehend how large Irridescent sharks get. They always say the same thing, "Oh it's okay, I have them in a 55 Gallon"! At which point I show them our 500 gallon display tank and tell them that THAT tank isn't even suitable to house them for life.
