I had a customer a few days ago that wanted to buy an, "expensive fish", and keep it in a 10 gallon for life. I was thinking why get an expensive fish when you're too cheap to buy a sufficient tank? (He wanted something way too big for a 10 gallon)

Also, I had a lady that had a Oscar she got for free in a 1 gal. Thankfully she was open for suggestions, and I suggested to her that she give it back to whoever she got it from because they will grow very large in a fairly short amount of time and that whoever gave her the fish is irresponsible for either not knowing this or not telling her.

I was at Petco and my brother got a Tiger Oscar. The lady told him, in 2 months your gonna need a 75 gallon tank. I laughed so hard.

When I got my 29 gal, the lady asked me: "What are you gonna out in it?"
I told her a channel cat and bluegill
She said:"You do understand that in about 1 month it will be 7 feet long!"
Me:No 3 feet
her:NO IT WILL BE 7 FEET LONG! WE SELL THEM!
me: Show me
She walks away!

That was sad and funny at the same time

I've heard of flatheads getting over 5 feet but that takes years.

Anyway I was in Fish n Pets when this lady was buying fish for there 60gal. Her kids wanted some agressive fish but she said no because she likes peaceful fish. I started talking with the kids and asked them to show me there fish. They showed me them what looked like 2 tiger barbs, 4 giant danios, a pl*co, and a krib. So i started telling them how the barbs and are schooling fish. I pointed that out to there mom and showed them the other variaties of the tiger barbs and said she should get 4 of each which she did. I also pointed out that their tank would make a killer semi agressive tank. I showed them the firemouths and said that they had a laid back personality and show neat colors when breeding. I helped them pick out a M/F. Then I showed here the gold severums and said they are the wimpiest big bad cichlid i have ever seen and said the males get a really cool pattern. When she saw the price tag(10.99) she almost fainted. She said there is no way she was buying that fish. After alot of begging from the kids(and some expaining from me) she finally gave in.

10.99 on a fish? Well let me think how many of my fish or over 10.99... umm almost all of them

I'm looking on Craigslist for a big tank so I can get (hopefully)an arowana.

you have to take into account that the lady in the story has numerous kids and plenty of other financial responsibilites, maybe to her $10.99 on a fish is too high since there are bills and groceries to have to pay for
