Customer: Bye.... wait does this fish need oxogen?
Owner: yes

this was the worst
Lady walks in with a bowl with 30 DEAD fish frozen in a bowl. (including beatiful checkerbords cardinals, tetras and cories.) "i didnt want them any more some of them died."
owner: oh... thats thermal shock probably, yes thats it (he blames everything on that), ill get you some more."
as he is about to dip the net in to get some she says,
"no i want something a bit bigger like those" she pointed to a ton of gouramis.
owner gets like twenty and she walks away. i wonder how many will make it:(

yea, kind of like the people i had come in the other day. they told me they just picked up their new pit puppy in the middle of the night 2 days ago, and they said its around 5 months old. they brought it into the store, it was maybe 6 - 7 weeks old. it was obviously stolen. it was also shaking because it was terrified. they then continued to tell me that they have only fed it one can of dog food for those 2 days they have had it. when they were looking around the store, i was holding the puppy. if i wouldnt have gotten fired and/or arrested, i wouldve ran out of that store and taken the puppy home with me. all i wanted to do was save it from the miserable life it is going to have, probably being raised as a fighting dog.

That is a horrible story - its wrong to jump to conclusions, but you're probably right about the fighting dog. Poor little guy.

I got one.....Very dumb and noob....

When i was like 6 me and my dad got fish for our new pond at our house in colorado.....the town is 30 min away and the first day we tried this the gold fish died before we got home....the guy at the store told us it was probably cuz the water got to warm....The next day we tried it again but this time i watched and monitored to bag closely...it started to heat up so i told my dad while we were at Wal mart...he thought dry ice would help cool them down.....the car was filled with smoke(Dry ice and water) and all the fish died instantly.... Felt sooo dumb....but the next batch lived lol

to many ellipsis, but funny story;)

hahaha good stuff, my favorite is when they come in looking for an "algae fish" or a "nemo" and of course everything can live in a 10 gallon...right? these silly questions are what makes me appreciate the ones that do their research

Had a similar story here once. So i fibbed. I told them that the store was giving away some pet items to some of the customers that day. They would only have to sign with full name, phone number and an adress if they wanted some more free stuff sent to them in the mail (which we actually do often, so customers are used to that). While they were signing i took a photo of the dog with my cellphone. While they were paying i checked their id, to see if it was the same as written down.
When they left i called an uncle of a friend of mine who is a cop, sent him the photo, name and adress.
The dog was taken away from them after a few days of survailance, neighborhood witnesses and such. It got a new home, i see it at the store every now and then. Happy dog with a happy family.

see now that is the correct type of action for that situation. the authorities were able to observe the environment and they made the judgement call.
