Im certain behind closed doors you are way way worse. So does being open about it really make us any more of a nanny state? Don't you have stupid laws also? (Snakehead, asian aro for example) I think many people the world over would be surprised at the laws they break without ever realising. Im also not entirely sure what surveillance, which ultimately is to create revenue, has to do with a difficult to enforce animal welfare law?

So fish food comprised of fish meal is ok but you can't feed fish? Mmmkay. Nanny state at its best.

I also don't see how this can even equate. Comercially produced food versus live food. Everyone with dogs or cats, fine to feed food with duck or chicken in, but there would be uproar if live ducklings were being thrown to a pack of hungry dogs. It's not even close to the same thing. Yes of course animals have to die to feed us and our pets, but statements saying 'it's all the same' are downright stupid

What do you expect from the country who has the most surveillance equipment publicly in use? I feel like Britain has made a bad name for itself with such actions. Lkike you said Nanny state at its best

I think a lot of countries have made bad names for themselves in one way or the other. Having a bad name for too much surveillance is pretty low on the list imo.

Sorry for the multiple posts. Multi quote was being difficult.

You make a fuss about live mice, rats, and rabbits being fed to herps? Hunters using dogs to help kill wild pigs? We are talking feeder fish here.

Read the posts. I'm not making a fuss. I'm just stating what the law says. I even said I didn't necessarily agree with it. I stand by what I said. Irrespective of your viewpoints on the rights and wrongs of it, comercially prepared food of any kind is different from feeding the live equivalent. I had chicken for sunday lunch... is that the same as me biting the head off of a live chicken? Of course it isn't.

This is a little off topic but it's been bothering me for awhile why are some fish keepers against feeding the odd mouse to there fish.a large mouth bass or a northern pike is going to take any mouse unlucky enough to fall into the water so what's up with not feeding your large fish the odd mouse

Someone chopped the head off that chicken if you didn't. You think a commercially raised animal killed in a slaughterhouse is more humane than a farm raised animal you kill yourself?
