Feeding live fish is illegal...

Reason most people dont is exactly that mammalian protein is just not good for fish. Yes, they eat mammals in the wild but they will also eat anything alive in the water they can fit in their mouths. Reptiles, birds etc.

Ive never done it, but imagine how dirty your tank would be after something toothy was done with it. I dont want mouse blood in my tank, or fur, or fish to cough up a nasty half digested mammal. Ammonia spike of the century

Wanna feed something neat and healthy? Frogs are a good choice

yeah, i love animals, but i absolutely hate PETA. they are a buncha people who live in the cities that never saw a day of the true nature, who saw rats and mice in rattraps; then made a organization to annoy the hell of people. I'm sure the laws won't pass here.
 
Cod they all ready are in California eggs must be from new barns where the hens have enough room to flap their wings without hitting another hen. Who do you think pushed for those laws. Why is there a huge push for vegetarian dog and cat food. Cats are not vegetarians they are carnivores. We had a woman tell us we should not slaughter animals for our lions and tigers. She said there were foods out there for them that no animal had to die to feed them. These laws are coming and not enough people are out there trying to stop them.
I said it before the government will listen to whoever makes the most noise. Right now groups like PETA are making all the noise. If you want to stop these stupid laws start to get your government to take a close look at these groups. All of these groups are charities which means any money they get is less tax dollars in the governments pocket. Then the government has the nerve to say they have no money. If an end was put to these groups billions of dollars in tax dollars would be back in their hands. These billions of dollars these groups collect are used to lobby the government and put in laws such as the one that started this thread.
 
The law about eggs I say is perfectly reasonable... the forcing carnivores, of either the mammal kind or the fish kind to eat vegetarian is stupid... I don't feed my snakehead live because I don't want him going off pellets but he most definitely gets meaty foods.... and what do they think animals eat in the wild? If they all ate grass then the ecosystem would fail....

I don't know about where you are, but here there are laws regarding the ways and means to slaughter livestock. That applies to a farm or to a factory. So in theory, if I buy a chicken from the supermarket, regardless of origin, it should have been killed in a a humane manner. So yeah I think its very different to buy a dead chicken as opposed to biting ones head off. Same also applies to dog or cat food- duck flavoured kibble vs live duck. Fish im sure are different, but again- it's not my law. True they are only feeder fish, but to some people fish in general- be it feeder or cichlid or whatever- are 'only fish' so where does one draw the line?
