Feeding small gar?

I have mine in a 3 gallon for now because it was the only thing I had but there getting a 20 gallon in a few days

Mine are in a 20 gallon for now then the plan is a 33 long. I just got an awesome pic of one yawning.

To this in less than 9 months granted my brokw his back so I'm sure him healing from that slowed him down some and he's about 10.5in now

Update on my gar growth rates are all over the place which I expected. My biggest two are now eating mosquito fish fry. The biggest one is constantly fat. The smallest and skinniest gar ended up dying after I tried moving him to a new tank because he just couldn’t compete with the others. The remaining three all are still eating but one is always noticeably skinny. I’ll probably separate the two larger ones in a day or two.

I only found the one so I didn't get the opportunity to raise multiples like you guys (mad jelly btw) what did you guys catch are they long noses also?

There’s a tiny chance mine could be shortnose but I’m almost positive they’re longnose.
