Festae finally breeding!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The link you posted does not link to any fish videos. Could you try again.
I actually read the same thread that you are speaking of. I seen the negative post. Some people think when you post your experience in their thread your hijacking. Im not here to care about things like that. If the thread is about festae and your posting your festae and your posting festae related experiences im cool with it. Im here to have discussions and learn while talking to people with the same interest.

Sorry Big G my droid act funny at work.

Try www.youtube.com/decker504

I have trouble copying links on my phone at work. I have several festae vids up. Some of my last pair w/ 1in fry and the one labeled latest festae pairing is the pair that laid this week. It would be cool if we could swap fry someday.

I have never shipped fish before but would be willing try. Your festae are beautiful. Your male is awesome. Mine are smaller about 4.5 or 5 inches. I was surprised that they even bred.

I have a question. I know that the separate generations are described using F numbers.F0 are wild caught. Right? Mine were sold to me as the offspring of wild caught so would they be F1? And if so that would make the fry I have F2. I guess I should start another thread for this.

I visited Don Conkel when I was on vacation a few months ago, righteous dude. He told me a lot of cichlids are more prolific breeders when they are younger actually and that older, larger, mature fish actually produce several hundred LESS eggs. I'm about to buy some books on shipping and some shipping supplies off aquabid. I have access to pure o2. Its worth a shot to try a little swap. Conkels shipping room was amazing. He's got it going on for sure...

I believe so Big G. I was curious too because my 1st pair to spawn the female is F0 Wild Caught and the male is allegedly F1 and I have no idea what to classify the fry as either. That would make a good thread. I also vaguely remember someone mentioning the differences between festae w/ green and/or blue features. I have males that look blue, males that look greener and males that are more red. My wild female seems to have gold in her face, but I have a nice female w/ a green face too. I think it has to do w/ where they are from, but I'm not sure and need to research it more.
