Festae finally breeding!

He is nice but he is only 6 inches. I hope he will get better with age. Do you have a guess what region he comes from?
I have been looking at different festae from different regions but I cant pin it down. He has a lot of green on his face that didn't show up to well on the video.
 
I would guess Equadorian. Peruvian allegedly have a higher body profile. Whatever he is, HE'S fine bro! I was reading some of AquaMojos posts on ACA that said fish that breed earlier grow a little slower, but I'm totally fine w/ that. Conkel even told me that older larger fish yield less eggs when they spawn too.

I have a festa paired up about to breed what was the fish tank specs and water condition s ie temp. Ph kh please let me know i live in va
 
sorry for the delay just checked this thread. The temps in the tank were about 78 to 80, PH is 7.5, not sure on the hardness. I do not test for that very often.
 
are you going to sell the fry . i would buy some for a good price .
 
yes I am planning on selling some locally. Im not sure about price or shipping at this point. I have never shipped before so thats something I will have to learn more about first. I have two separate spawns that I am growing out. The oldest are about half inch now so it will be a little while before their ready.
 
Here is a little update. Bothe pair are doing well I tried to get a pic with the fry but they did not cooperate.
