Filter Pads as Replacement for Gravel

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
To cover the bottom of the tank.. It's too white due to the layer of styrofoam beneath the tank & it might be causing my fh to lose colour..

Why do you want to use filter pads? Is your fh digging a lot and moving the gravel? If so, add a lot of gravel. Should've painted the bottom of the tank red.

you should paint the bottom of your tank blue or use blue fabric if the styrafoam white is an issue.

Like I've mentioned, it's to cover the whole bottom tank.. painting would be unlikely now..

If I could, I would have removed the styrofoam long ago & replace it with something else..

Why filter pads? Why not maxi pads? How bout knee pads? I would just spread a few handfuls of gravel around to sparsely cover the white a bit...
Filter pads because I can get really big piece of it & it's not expensive..

Sure it would probably work, don't think there would be any danger or problems in using it.

Surprised you didn't suggest using "skittles" candy as it seems you like the rainbow of flavor colored gravel;)
