Thx for the encouragement.. I should probably get it by this weekend or the next.. What colour do you think I should get? I think they have yellow, blue & black..

As easy as it is to change, I would suggest getting the blue and black. See which looks better or see which has more of an effect on your FH.

Post some pics too

Just an idea: How about putting a few big air stones under the matting so that the water flows through it, get good bacteria growing on the mat ?

Thx for the idea.. There's actually two rubber tubes(air curtain) at the back of the tank.. Should I twist the air curtain into a swirling shape then put the mats on or do I just leave them as they are?
By the way, I'm a little worried of trapped bubbles underneath the mats.. I heard they are bad for the fish?

I dont see how any trapped air could be a bad thing.. otherwise people with sumps would have that problem all the time??
I would just use the air curtain as it is.. might even give off a better effect under the matts.. ( larger, more random, bubbles )
Although you could try curling it and see if you like that better..
anyway.. i say give it a go and let us know how it goes..

Hmm, went to get the filter pads today & turns out they don't have blue.. There's only white, yellow, black & green.. I remember black is a no no for kamfa so I bought yellow instead.. Will do wc & stuff them in by this weekend..

Finally finished with stuffing the filter pads..
Here's the before pic(don't mind the pump & the air curtain, the fh got crazy & knocked everything around)

Here's the finished result.. The only downside so far is the uneven sides of the pads as they were difficult to cut.. & also the air from the air curtain isn't able to pass through the thick pads.. only a little bubbles managed to escape from the uneven space at the back..
