same here. Outstanding.

Sometimes I look back and can't believe how bad it looked in the beginning..but I didn't know it looked bad...in my eyes, even a bare tank with substrate and wood looked great to me. It went from bare to busting with plants, and now battleling with some different algae...it is quite the adventure. And people say planted tanks are dull!!

Well, I think it's time for a little update.
I've been without CO2 since last Friday and I actually think the plants are looking better than ever, and there is not much algae...much less algae than last week for sure. I have not fertilized since I had to mail the unit back, and cut the watts per gallon way back. I should have the CO2 unit back tomorrow. The Solenoid had a bad "O" ring, so Orlando at Green Leaf just replaced the entire unit to be safe. I would highly recommend him and Pedro from the invertzfactory. Pedro forgot to put my Amano shrimp in the box and sent them to me plus included 4 extra Nertites at no charge to me. They are real beauties too.
Anyway, I put 12 Nerite snails in last weekend and today added the 15 large Amano Shrimp. The interior glass is extremely clean...I don't think I'll have to snorkle to clean them myself anymore thanks to the new algae squad.
Last weekend I picked up a few new plants. (Susswassertang, Brazillian Pennywort/Hydrocotyle leucocephala, and Water Sprite/Ceratopteris thalictroides). I was able to break down the 40 since the last of the German Blue Rams are gone, so I moved the plants and shrimp I had it in the 40 to the big tank. Everything fit by moving a few thing around a little, not too much. I'm shocked at how I can keep adding plants but it does not look to crowded. The wood really keeps a lot of swim space open and I like that. It's official, I am a "one tank" gal.
I have had a couple of Blue Ram spawns. You'll notice some flat rocks in the tank. Those are what the Rams like to spawn on. I also threw in 3-4 GBR culls because I didn't have the heart to kill them. They are still pretty even with some slight defects that probably only I would notice. The dwarf Rainbows are starting to spawn again. Little sister grew up and her dad and 3 brothers are really working the girl hard. (their family tree looks like a telephone pole) LOL It's official, I am now a one tank gal.
On with the pictures...

Black Ghost update??
My BGK is great. You can see him under the wood on the left side of the tank. He has mvoed out of his tube favoring this cave under the wood. I'm going to guess he is a good 10 to 11 inches long. He is an awesome fish. You can see his face in pictures 5 and 6..

I have been given permission by my good buddy Curt to make an announcement. The High Body Checkerboard Turquoise group that he bought from me a few months back has formed a fertile pair. Please meet the 60+ new family members of "King and Mii".
They like to much on the algae that is on the flower pot as well as on Mom and Dad. Picture taken Saturday, the fry were 7 days old. Can't you just picture a group of these in my planted tank.

These were taken before they were free swimming.

I will be getting a batch of 8 to 12 of these to grow out. They are the same fish that are in my avatar...they were juvies in the avatar picture, now they are a good 5.5 to 6 inches.

The tank just keeps getting better and better. I hope that the break from co2 doesn't throw things out of wack. But this tank has had such an amazing journey that I am sure you can manage what ever happens.

For my birthday I just upgraded to a 125. I doubt it will look as nice as your big tank, but I defiantly hope so.
