Are you sure? That's a very tall fish for a RD... care to give some history on the fish? origin?

If anything, I would have guessed a Midas or FH... Dang

midas usually have a lot more rounded lips more like a u shape where as RD's (true Rd,s)from what I have learnt have a more V shaped mouth with there lips.Other than a slight size difference not much else is different. That does not go to say a lot of fish on the market today is not a mix of both strains. One would never know today. The v shaped pointier mouth says more RD.HE is about 10.5" and probably looks tall because he is starting to mature and is just starting to develop his hump.

i really do hope this clear things up and stop the arguing

I found this web page if it helps.I state I have nothing against Hybrids but if you had German shepards with so many different looks like the flowerhorns do you wouldn't call them german shepards. They would be just x breeds.until flowerhorns are uniformed somewhat are they not just hybrids and only hybrids.
http://www.original-flowerhorn.com/bestofbreed2.asp
again I have nothing against hybrids .I have done syspillum x freidricstalii which I have not seen done before anywhere.Does this mean I get to name it as another strain or breed or hybrid.to me it's still just a x breed.

The color is so unusual - and it is exactly what you see in my photos. When I said my photo skills are limited, I was referring to the fact I'm using a built-in camera on my laptop, so to take a photo, I have to hold the whole computer next to the tank. What you see is what they really do look like - crazy looking fish.
For you that question what they are, one of their parents is a pure jing kang, and they are from two different sets of parents. Thailand imports.
As for the color, this ghostly white REALLY is their color....

What is a pure hybrid?

Yours are fading they will be a different color soon, no more ghost

That Plat is a Malaysian champ while yes it has everything that is desired in the strain. You should not compare all to that one as only one in a thousand if you were lucky would ever look that way

Snowfox:ROFL: what a crap strain if there were such a strain? If one wanted their FH to look like that they should just save the $ and by a Midas:ROFL:

First of all, please notice my MIDAS in this same thread. I already have one. Thanks for the suggestion, and it didn't require any saving. He set me back $8 bucks.
I got these two because they are really unique and different looking for FH's

To the guy who asked what is a pure hybrid? My quote is "pure jing kang" what I meant by that is, one of the parents of both of my FH's are a JingKang bred with another FH, as opposed to a JingKang X_____ crossed with another FH.

In other words, a pure strain of a hybrid is one of the parents of my fish.

Once again, I got these because they are radically different from your "usual" FH's, and because they will be WILD when larger. No telling what will happen with them.
