if you want a gun to shoot a lot very cheap get a 22 fairly cheap gun bulk ammo is great 525 rounds for 18 bucks cant be used for deer but great for varmint things coyotes bobcats once i shot a 200 pound boar with it right behind the ear dropped it ,so it will kill anything if shot in the right spot for deer and bigger game better off with a 30-06 than a 3030

For home security, nothing gets the would-be intruder's attention better than the sound of the pump action of a shotgun...trust me. I think there's a class on how to wet yourself instantaneously when you here that sound...just thinking out loud. The savage or the winchester are great. good luck...just remember...any permit or registration you have to have or do with a gun is like giving the authorities a g.p.s. to your whereabouts.

Worst. Advice. Ever.

Dont even get me started on racking the of shotgun for home defense. Thats just ludicrous.

There is no federal gun registration but you do live it ****cago. Good luck.

any other words on the ruger?

ive heard 50/50 on the ruger, which is just not good enough for me to spend my money on. although ive never handled one.

glocks are my all time fav. hear great things bout the springfield XD's.

worried about the thumbs, perhaps a revolver. although learning proper handling will solve that problem. first time i ever fired a pistol i got pinched by the slide, has never happened since lol.

yeah any nice pump shotgun wit a couple of blanks wrapped off would scare the crap out of an intruder haha actually any gun wit blanks fired will let the person know you aint afraid to blow there head off and i would go wit the ruger cause i have owned a lot of there guns and they are great

Sorry, someone breaks into my house the last thing I am interested in is scaring them off.

Then the next problem with blanks in your gun is obvious. If you actually needed to fire it to defend yourself you're screwed.

I have a Ruger P95DC that is pretty similar to the SR9. It's an alright gun but I can't shoot it as well as my other handguns. It has a pretty heavy trigger pull too. Don't get me wrong, I love Rugers (I have 5 of them) but I'm not crazy about their semi-auto handguns.
