Hi new to mfk, got a 800l tank coming and thinking of putting a silver arowana, ghost knife fish and an oscar in it but not sure if am going to be causing any future problems. Got 7500l/h with an uv light. The tank it self has a footprint of 6.8'x2'x30". Any help and advice much appreciated

Thanks. Thats what I was afraid of probably better with a minimum of 8'x3' footprint. Been keeping fish for 22 years and never been a fan of buyinh what I cant keep.Back to the drawing board

For a silver aro a minimum footprint of 8x3x2 is required.
For your footprint a jardini aro could fit in, jardinis minimum requirement is a 6x2.5x2.

Hope it helps

Just remember jardinis can be extremely agressive and depending on the individual fish you might not be able to keep much else with her

So just do a bit of research first on the aro and what you want with it in the tank

Thanks for all the help decided not to get an arowana. Its just not fair to keep them in a tank thats the same width as the length of the fish. Just going for a ghost knife and oscar but probably look it at a couple good catfish.

Sorry, but even 8x3 is way too small for a silver Arowana. I mean, those beasts literally grow to 3' and bigger. I have heard and seen many that are 3'+.
