SEASON UPDATE-3/22/09-FAIR DAY
AIR TEMP-H-55/L-28
WATER TEMP-??
SPOTS FISHED-2
FISH CAUGHT-4
ESTIMATED TIME FISHED-3 HRS
PRIME TIME-2:30
Another theory of mine is that every lake mixed with the time of year has a time when the fish just go "bonkers" and this is called "prime time". Today i said it was 2:30. I arrived at the second spot of the day at 1:30, i only fished the first one for a 30 minute quicky. Mainly cause its been getting heavy pressure and it wasn't "prime time".I fished the second spot for 45 minutes cast after cast and didnt even get a bite. I seen a dude catch a small 8" bass on live bait, but that doesnt mean nothing to cause i dont use live bait. I have been telling my wife and brother that around 2:30 is when i have been catching most of my fish or when i have caught multiple fish in very short periods of time.
First fish caught at 2:33 and 3 other fish caught between then and 3:30 when i decided to guit for the day.
There was the guy out there with his son fishing. They came out there with the live worms and bobbers. and cause the blue gills/panfish areant out yet they werent catching nothing. I over heard the 6-9 year old boy say "daddy i want us to catch something". The dad at that point pulled out his spinner bait and a popper. So i walked pass him and said real quick "throw a rat-l-trap or a lipless crank bait" cause the noise is what has been working. He says ok and swithed to a "shakey head" and when he told me i thought he ment a shakey head worm cause thats the only way i had ever heard the term shakey head used. He really ment a crank bait. So i caught my first fish while he keep catching grass, so i walked over there where he was and said use a lipless crank bait and you will beable to keep it above the grass. We walked over to his tackle box and he asked me is this wat you are talking about while showing me a fresh brand new in the box all chrome rat-l-trap. I replied yes this is wat you want to use and went back to the spot i was fishing. I then caught a nice 3.3lb bass and he looked over there and said to me you really might know what you are talking about. I was going to get sarcastic with him but i decided against it and calmly said its "prime time" so keep on casting. I went on to catch 2 more pickerals after that. About fifthteen minutes before i was leaving i heard him say "son i got one".
When i seen how happy it made the son, i felt very good that i helped out. Once the father had took some pics and released the fish he turned to me and said "thanks alot man".Oh i almost forgot, during one part of the day im standing on the shore just casting and casting and all of a sudden i see wat i believe to be a big piece of tree falling in the water but it turned out to be a squirel that must lost he footing or something. Once i seen the squirel swimming back to dry land it was kinda funny.
That my fishing update!!
