FISH LANDED-3

Called off of work(STUPID). Woke up at 11 and had the itch, so i took the boat out to "Etra" from 1:15-5.

It was very hot today and in some spots the water was 88 degrees. With water temps that high it made for a slow day. Landed 2 after a few hours and at 4 i was able to land a 2.12. I wasnt able to land anything else after that, so i called it quits.

After estimating a side job, i pulled out my phone and did some lake exploring. First spot is called "Weamaconik lake" I had seen it before but never threw a line in it. It was muddy and very grassy. I wasnt able to land anything, so i hopped back in the car and headed to the next spot.

"DeVoe Lake" My brother and I fished this spot on 6/20 and the update is on page 63. The grass has took over and the water was muddy. I only fished for 15 minutes and had no luck at all.

Slow day and one decent size fish, it could of been worst!!

Yeah thats a big one how much she weigh?

I had no scale with me multi. Maybe I should keep one with me but in the end catching a true trophey happens so rarely I don't see the point. I can catch decent fish as well as many who have posted on this thread have. Then you have a day like I did dimensions change for the species each of us have caught but then that trophey comes along and darn no scale. I'll live without knowing the weight the picture shows its a big steelhead and I'll be happy with that. Thanks for looking though.

P.S. Nice bass BTW fiend

I found out why skamania die after a fight. Skamania being a very muscular fish fight very hard. Skamania are a cold water fish. During the fight skamania build up a deadly amount of lactic acid, and when released back to warm water like 70+ degrees they die a few hours/days later. This is why the DNR says to keep them.

You just now learned about Lacticacidtosis ? There are many variables that fit into that equation as to wether the fish will survive apon release. Mainly oxygen. I know you thought I was wrong earlier in the year for releasing my catches. I assure you they survived. These last few trips I Haven't released them because the fish fought themselfs to death in warmer water. The big one today was given to another angler who probably told his wife he caught it LOL

FISH LANDED-ME-5/NEPHEW-4

Today was my first day back to work and i was super tired but my nephew called and said "take me fishing", so i gave in and took the baot out to "Etra"

I think cause of the high water temps the buzzy wasnt effective. Once i seen that i switched over to rubber. I landed 2 on the "dinger" and then switched over to the 10" u-tail and with that i was able to land 2 more. As we were making are rounds i told my nephew to throw in front of me cause i seen the water ripple. He throw his spinner bait and a small CP jumped right on it, I then said to him "say thank you". See when im fishing and the water is calm i pay close attention to water movement. My family or the person im fishing with always say that i dont no what im talking about but i have proven myself plenty of times by either catching the fish myself or telling them to throw right over there. I went on to land one more using the buzzy and my nephew landed 3 more before quitting.

The days are getting shorter and thats a good thing for bass fishing cause that means fall is coming. Fall feeding is the BEST time to land your BIGGEST bass of the year. Here in NJ they have to eat very heavy to make it through the long cold winter and best believe i will fish for them until the water frezzes over.

Nothing big today but i still had fun!!

Fall also means steelhead and salmon  and walleye and pike :naughty:

I noticed the Sternotherus Oderatus you have in there.

Without reading all these pages to see if you've moved it, how is it doing?

You might want to move it.
